Match report With an unchanged line up, Captain for the day Mr Clay elected to field in this semi-final encounter with our nearest and dearest rivals. Tipton found it difficult to score against the pace of Raistrick(A) and Chaplin and with Clay mixing up the bowling, Tipton couldn`t settle. Wickets fell at regular intervals until Tipton found themselves all out for 87.
Raistrick(A)and Chaplin opened for Newton and were going happily along until a mix-up caused a run-out for Chaplin. Coombs and Raistrick(A) started to take the game away from Tipton until Coombs smacked a shot straight towards the umpire only to see the bowler throw out a hand and deflect the ball to mid-on for a simple catch.
With sensible batting the game was in the bag and Clay took no chances until Raistrick(A) was safely in the hutch after retiring with 25.
Cardwell didn`t last long again and it was left to Raistrick(M) to smash the winning runs with an over to spare.
