Ken Clay was pleased for such a good season last year, nice to see some new faces and hopes for a few more new faces into the club this year. End of year presentation was a success and thanked all at the club.

Treasurer's report

The current balance is £3130,73. Yearly insurance is still to be paid, usually around £350, Sonya will get in contact with Ed to find out more about it. Sponsorship totaled £320 for last season (good job Ash Perram). Honours board was purchased and engraved for a total of £516, this is an initial purchase fee and costs will now only be new names each season. The cost of trophies and presents for the presentation night came to £168, made mostly back in the raffle draw (£160). The club made £197 on cricket cards this year. All subs were paid up. A £125 fee will need to be paid for the website before the 1st of March. Any equipment needed for the club to go through Sonya so it can be purchased on the Clubs Bank card.

Annual membership fees – to be reviewed for 2024.

This should include a discussion regarding subs and match fee rates for Under 18’s who are officially member of Sidmouth CC. In 2023 Sidmouth Juniors were charged £10 for membership.

  • Senior membership subscription = £30
  • Junior membership subscription = £20

    Sunday match fees

  • Senior fee = £5
  • Junior & concessions playing fee = £3

20/20 match fees – to be reviewed for 2024.

  • Senior fee = £3
  • Junior & concessions playing fee = £2

All Fees are to stay the same for the 2024 season.

Fixture Secretary's report

Last year there were 16 Sunday matches with 3 cancelled, 12 midweek games with 3 cancelled and 2 abandoned. This year so far there are 13 Sunday games and 11 midweek games scheduled. Rich is waiting on a few teams to confirm. There are 6 free slots for both Sunday and midweek. Rich to liaise with Laura in all details.

Pre-season groundwork

Waiting to hear back from Sidmouth on their fixtures and a decision will be made on a date and time then.

Fundraising & Sponsorship

Ash Perram said he makes plenty of calls to prospective sponsors each season and it is difficult to attract them to the club without a lot in return for them. It was agreed match reports will be written up for each game by Dominic Nancekievill and posted to all social media, the Herald and club website. It was noted to thank Woodley’s for the Honours board and that we would like them to be a sponsor without any charge this season.

Social Activities

The club has been invited to Bristol to play a match in early September. Sonya will look into prices for a nights stay and the possibility of a tour. Possible itinerary of early meet up, travel to Bristol 9:30, match start of 12, stay for a drink, evening meal and a night out.

Social Media

Dominic Nacekievill is happy to set up and manage the club’s social media accounts. Also to create flyers for the village noticeboards advertising for new players. A fixture list on the new Pavilion noticeboard would be great too.

New Shed

The club is waiting for permission from the playing field’s committee to have a new shed/scorebox built. Louis Adey will look into sizes/designs/costings.

New Kit

Some concerns of the quality of current kit, the club can change suppliers if needed. Sonya Adey will look into possible suppliers if we want to change.

First Aid Kit/Box

Josh Harrison is happy to provide the club with a kit. It will be kept in the scorebox in a secure cupboard/box.

Any other business

New season pitch hire charge is £30. To offset this it has been proposed that visiting teams will now be charged a fee to play. The committee will discus this and settle on a fee. Laura to let teams know that the club will require notice of cancellation one week in advance of the fixture for a full refund. The club has also requested a cancellation period with the Pavilion of 48hours, we are now waiting for confirmation on this. Richard Coombes is to set up new committee members and any other relevant people on the website. The Pavilion have plans to renovate outside toilets, one for men, one for women, fully cladded, stainless steel fixtures. There is still some concerns these wont be done in time for the new season. Sonya has offered her services to clean the inside toilets after each game if we are allowed to use them. Ash to email them to ask. This season membership forms are now updated and ready for people to start signing up and paying their yearly membership subscription.

Meeting closed at 4:40pm.
