With our first match taking place on Thursday please read the following regarding facilities at Sidmouth CC.
I have attached the Sidmouth guidelines relating to the use of facilities. The clubhouse is open, as is the bar and food provision, with restrictions. All visitors will be required to sign in on entry. There remain no changing facilities but there is a covered area for players kit to be stored. There is the opportunity to have an individual 'boxed' tea provided at £3.50 ahead but this is subject to enough people requesting it. If this is of interest please let me know and I will open dialogue with the catering manager at Sidmouth.
In relation to parking, there is no onsite parking so my suggestions are as follows:
1. try to arrive early as Sidmouth can become very busy on a sunny day
2. There is often free off-road parking to be found in Glen Road with a rear public footpath entrance leading onto the ground.
3. There are a number of public paying car parks close to the ground so parking up and taxing people and kit to the ground is also an option.
Playing rules will follow ECB guidelines with the addition of the following local rule in place for all friendly fixtures at the ground.
Batsmen striking the ball over the netting on the lower part of the ground protecting the road and beach will score no runs. Repeating the offence will require the batsman to retire out. Should this event happen in total 3 times in a match including batsmen from both sides then the home captain is obliged to seriously consider abandoning the match.
