As is now tradition there will be a Champagne Moment of the Season award once again this year, in addition to the normal batting, bowling and player awards. This is an opportunity to celebrate a moment of 'pure' cricket that would otherwise perhaps go unnoticed. Members can nominate incidents from the season they feel merit consideration. Listed below are those that have already been put forward. The final list will be shortlisted by the club committee for players vote on the night.
NPCC Champagne Moments 2019
1. George House falling short of a 100 verses Erratics. A sole effort to save a game lost that agonising and dramatically fell short.
2. A. Cox maiden 100 for the club verses Geriatrics
3. A. Cox and I. Thomas setting the clubs record batting partnership of 224 verses Geriatrics. Opening the batting both scored 100’s. Isaac making his 8th hundred for the club.
4. Tom Clay 138 vs Old Leightonians (87 balls?)
5. Luke Raistrick taking a Hattrick and claiming his 100 wickets for the club with the same ball in our 20Twenty match verses Met Office.
6. Isacc Thomas 9th 100 verses Mount Ambrose.
7. louis Adey maiden club 100 verses Mount Ambrose.
8. Macca, plays one game and takes five wickets. (On the flattest deck you’ll find anywhere).
9. Louise 5 wickets verses Tipton.
10. Kieran Phillips 3 for 10 on 20Twenty debut verses Bakers.
