Good morning. I trust I find everyone one safe and well.
I have been contacted by several members asking about how the club is coping in these uncertain times. Please all be assured that no significant issues are effecting us at this time. The ground (square and outfield) continues to be maintained in a holding state by Sidmouth ready for the resumption of cricket. There will be plenty to do once the green light is given but for now, everything that is needed is being managed. For this, we are very lucky. In terms of finances, the club treasurer reports that funds are currently OK with no pressing financial issues. This is in part due to several costs such as the ground fee not having been requested. We normally pay this in advance.
If cricket resumes this year (and I am hopeful it will at some point) it is difficult to know what cost we might incur. I would also repeat the sentiment of the AGM. The clubs retained balance is low and does not address funds for things such as equipment replacement -- this is something we need to address.
With this in mind, I would like to ask members who feel they can afford to do so, to consider paying, part or all of, their subscription fee for 2020. This will ensure we have funds in the bank ready. Once cricket resumes the club will look at the situation and ensure that a fair approach is taken on payments already made.
- Senior membership subscription = £25
- Junior membership subscription = £15
No one must feel obliged to pay at this time. Only do so if you can.
For those who wish too, I can provide bank payment details. I would also like to ensure I have an accurate record of everyone who pays or who has already done so. So please let me know if you, have or intend, to pay and how much.
